Teachers Central to Leadership (TCTL) Fellowship ProgramNow in its fourth year, the Teachers Central to Leadership Fellowship (TCTL) is a unique opportunity for DCPS educators to help shape policy at the district level. This five-week program places six educators on teams in the DCPS central office during the summer. Fellows provide critical input on issues such as curriculum, recruitment and selection of teachers, professional development, and communications. They meet weekly with DCPS leaders and have opportunities to share their perspectives and expertise. Fellows also contribute to the day-to-day life of their assigned teams, developing close relationships with central office staff members and gaining a unique perspective on how policies are made and programs are designed. Past TCTL fellows have contributed to a variety of mission-critical projects, such as participating in the design of IMPACT, developing resources to support teachers on the Teaching and Learning Framework, helping to roll out the Common Core State Standards, and working to increase family involvement in our schools. The 2012 TCTL Fellowship is being held from July 9 to August 10, 2012. Highlights of the program include: • Advising DCPS leaders on a variety of initiatives across central office
