Early Childhood Transition starts next week

Dear DCPS parents and families,

We have some important reminders regarding your preschool or pre-K child. Next week is Early Childhood Transition week for all children enrolled in preschool or pre-K in DC Public Schools.

Please note that there is no school next Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday for preschool and pre-K children. These three days are set aside for parents and families of children in these grades to meet with their teachers. Your child's teacher will call you to schedule the meeting.

Thursday, August 25th will be the first day of school for Preschool and Pre-K students whose last name begins with A-K. School begins on Friday, August 26th for children whose last name begins with L-Z. Children with an IEP will follow the same schedule.

For students who are provided transportation, if a bus comes in the first three days, please do not send your child on the bus and inform the driver that your first day will be either Thursday or Friday.

All preschool and pre-K students will begin a regular schedule starting Monday, August 29th.
