Information for Afterschool Providers
The Office of Out-of-School Time Programs (OSTP) is seeking strong community partners to provide afterschool programs in our schools. OSTP also is welcoming all organizations that deliver services to students at their own facilities outside of school buildings and invites them to submit a vetting application as well.
All potential providers must go through a thorough vetting process before being selected to provide services in our schools.
The process is a collaborative effort to ensure that all community and neighborhood based organizations that work with our students are stable, effective and able to serve students who are most in need of their services.
During the spring 2012, OSTP will open two vetting application cycles:
1. OSTP is announcing the opening of the re-vetting cycle for Cohort 2:
Feb. 6 to March 16, 2012
The organizations in Cohort 2 were vetted in 2009 and approved for three years. At the end of SY 11-12 the Cohort 2 organizations will have to re-apply for a new three-year cycle starting SY 2012-2013.
In order to manage the large number of vetting applications from Community and Neighborhood Based Organizations (CBOs and NBOs) invited to re-apply, OSTP is inviting the CBOs and NBOs to apply in two tiers by alphabetical order.
- Organizations whose name starts from A to M will apply from February 6th to February 24th
- Organizations whose name starts from N to Z will apply from February 27th to March 16th
Vetting applications will be reviewed as they are received. We ask for your cooperation in complying with the above deadlines in order to assist OSTP in managing an expected high volume of applications.
In case you do not submit your application within the timeframe indicated above, the application will be considered during the regular vetting cycle closing on April 16, 2012 with the new organizations applying. The application will be reviewed last, after all new applications.

The vetting cycle for organizations never vetted before to become afterschool service providers starting the fall of SY 2012-2013 will open on March 1st. From March 1 to April 16, 2012 we will accept new applications. Applications submitted after the April 16th deadline will not be considered for the fall of 2012.
