Chefs Move to Schools Program

The DCPS Office of Food and Nutrition Services is pleased to support the USDA’s Chefs Move to Schools Program. Sponsored by First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign to fight childhood obesity, Chefs Move to Schools Program partners schools with chefs to help educate students, teachers, and administrators about health and nutrition.

Schools can sign up to be included in the program by completing the form on the USDA website.

Participating DCPS schools and chefs partnering with a DCPS school should refer to the DCPS & Chefs Move to Schools Guidelines for information on the volunteer application process, DCPS and vendor contacts, and for suggested activities. Please note that all chefs participating with a DCPS school in this program are considered DCPS volunteers and cannot begin their work in DCPS schools until they have completed the Volunteer Application Process.
