What is a Catalyst World Culture school?

The study of world languages and cultures provides students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are indispensable to becoming a world citizen and that will enable their participation in an increasingly diverse society.

How will the experience of students at a Catalyst World Culture school be different than if they attended another school?

We seek to foster appreciation for cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity in students by exposing them to a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and a global perspective. We also intend for all students who attend a World Culture school to graduate with communicative and intercultural competence in a language other than English.

What are the benefits of a student attending a Catalyst World Culture school?

The study of world languages and cultures provides students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are indispensable to becoming a global citizen. With today’s ever-increasing diversity in the classroom, workplace, and community, it is crucial that students gain a deep understanding of the cultural background of their fellow classmates and learn respect for diverse cultures.

According to the Center for Economic Development (CED), knowledge of foreign languages and cultures should no longer be considered specialized skills solely for experts. Whether students’ future endeavors are undertaken at home or abroad, proficiency in more than one language and knowledge of more than one culture will be a necessary and desirable tool for success.
