Smothers Elementary School

Kiana Williams is the new principal at Smothers Elementary School for School Year 2016-2017. Williams joined DCPS in 2013 as the assistant principal at Drew Elementary School. Prior to this role, she worked in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, where she served as an English language arts teacher, a reading specialist, and an instructional coach. In 2012, she participated in the Educational Leading and Learning Exchange Program (ELLE), where she collaborated with school leaders in Guangzhou, China to provide effective professional-development opportunities for teachers to improve student achievement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Tennessee State University.
