Janice Harris is the Instructional Superintendent for Cluster V. She began her career in education as an English and social studies teacher at The Mott Hall School in New York City. She later served as a technology coordinator for Hartford Public Schools, Connecticut, designing and implementing technology integration professional development for high school teachers. Her work in school leadership began in 2001, and for the past thirteen years, Dr. Harris has been a dedicated leader to the students of Higganum, Connecticut. From 2001-2003, she served as an assistant principal at Killingworth Elementary School. For the past eleven years, she has served as principal of Haddam Elementary School. Dr. Harris holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Latin American studies from Dartmouth College, and a master’s degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages from College of New Rochelle. She also holds an education doctorate degree in educational leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Florida. Dr. Harris is a current member of the Teach for America School Systems Leadership Fellowship, a district leadership program.
