STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

STEM integration is the instructional approach that promotes the implementation of STEM integration and showcases STEM skills and programs. The goals of DCPS STEM Integration are to improve student readiness for STEM majors and careers as well as prepare all students to be STEM literate citizens.

What is STEM? STEM is integration in action. STEM integrates science, technology, engineering, and math so that each of these content areas is taught within other content areas and equally alongside literacy and composition.

The STEM Integration team collaborates with the Career and Technical Education (CTE) department to co-manage Project Lead the Way programs, which are STEM programs for all grades K-12.

The STEM Integration team also provides STEM-based offerings to DCPS classrooms and curriculum guidance. For more information about STEM in DCPS visit our website [email protected].
