Kids Can Eat Free Every Weekday This Summer

Young student eating lunch

Just because school ends doesn’t mean student meals do -- FREE breakfast and lunch is available to all children and youth 18 and younger across the city all summer long!

Free meals can be found at parks and recreation centers, churches, community-based organizations, and at 48 schools throughout the District. These sites serve breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday to any student up to and including age 18.

Children and youth can show up at any school or site to receive a meal; they don’t need to be in a summer school program and they don’t need to show ID or registration for a free meal.

All of our schools serve hot, nutritious and delicious meals, such as sweet & sour chicken served with brown rice, local Asian broccoli, fresh orange slices, and the choice of skim or 1% milk.

Again this year, we’ll offer meals from a cart outdoors at HD Woodson High School and Ketcham Elementary School for active youth who are enjoying the outdoors.

To find a location, Text FOOD to 877-877, visit dcsummermeals.dc.gov, or call 211.

Here’s a quick map of locations.
