Sara Goldband is the Chief Business Officer at DC Public Schools, where she leads resource allocation across 115 schools and central office, federal programs and grants, and all contracting and acquisitions work. Sara’s focus areas have been on equity of access and driving a customer service and data emphasis across her work streams. She previously served as the Deputy Chief of Procurement and School Funding, where she improved school budget and data management systems to facilitate strong decision-making and reporting, led customer-service oriented initiatives in procurement, and expanded purchase card programs so schools could spend money more effectively. Goldband also previously served as the Director of Strategic Staffing, where she supported schools to shift teacher hiring earlier to compete more effectively for top talent and implemented an equity focus in central office hiring to ensure consistency and fairness in compensation offers. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University in Politics, a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University, and an Executive Masters in Leadership from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business.
