Phelps ACE High School
Dr. Emmett began his career in 1992 as a high school social studies and science teacher in Illinois working with students in the classroom for more than 12 years. In 2004, he transitioned to the role of dean, followed by an assistant principal role at Belvidere High School. Dr. Emmett then served students at the post-secondary level from 2009-2013 as an assistant professor at Point Loma Nazarene University in California, teaching graduate education courses. In the fall of 2013, he returned back to the secondary education setting and served as the principal at CICS Northtown Academy High School for three years. He transitioned to the principal of Fenton High School in 2016 where he has remained prior to joining DCPS. Dr. Emmett holds a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, a master’s degree from Northern Illinois University, and a doctoral degree from University of Wisconsin—Madison.
