Charon P.W. Hines is the Senior Advisor to the Chancellor. A third generation Washingtonian, Mrs. Hines brings 20 years of education experience as a classroom teacher and administrator at schools throughout the Washington metropolitan area. She holds a bachelor of arts in Sociology from Mary Baldwin College, master of arts in teaching from Bowie State University, and master of science in educational administration from Trinity University. Most recently, Mrs. Hines managed 10 agencies as Director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs (MOCA), which is the essential connection between District of Columbia residents and the Executive Office of the Mayor. At DCPS, she will lead and support strategic projects that will eliminate barriers to student achievement. Mrs. Hines looks forward to helping students and families navigate government agencies to ensure that they have equitable access to District resources and services.
