Sousa Middle School
Christian Edge is the Connected Schools Manager at Sousa Middle School, handling family engagement and school partnerships. Before coming to DC, Christian was the founding Director of K12 Education at Drexel University. His office, the School Work Studio, partnered with seven schools in West Philadelphia, acquiring resources for them from the university and Philadelphia writ large. Christian’s commitment to equity extends well outside of the school building. He has presented seminars and workshops concerning racial literacy and implicit bias for staff and students of many institutions, including the Settlement Music School, the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Out-of School-Time Resource Center. Christian earned his B.S. in Sociology from Vanderbilt University before obtaining his Master of Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania Fels Institute of Government and Master of Science in Education Policy at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.
