Patrick Davis serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS). Patrick leads DCPS’ work to ensure that all staff and students have the foundational and operational support needed for them to focus on teaching in learning. This includes designing, constructing, and maintaining world-class school buildings, providing a safe environment, and ensuring students have access to healthy and nutritious meals. Patrick also leads DCPS’ work around compliance and student attendance. Prior to taking on this role, Patrick led the Facilities division at DCPS and he oversaw the Capital Improvement Plan development, school modernization program, small capital project implementation, facility maintenance and sustainability initiatives. Since joining DCPS more than 6 years ago, Patrick has overseen the implementation of more than $1B worth of capital projects and has led the effort to focus on evidence-based design strategies. Prior to joining DCPS, Patrick worked at Baltimore City Public Schools where he focused on long-range facility planning and geographic information system (GIS) analysis and application development. Patrick also has extensive environmental planning experience, with a focus on air quality planning.
