Miner Elementary School

Andrea Mial is the new principal at Miner Elementary School for School Year 2016-2017. Prior to joining DCPS, she was the vice president of education services for Catapult Learning where she provided professional development and coaching services to school leaders and educators of preK-12 schools. From 2007-2015, she served as the assistant principal and then the principal for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). In this role, she led educational programs for preK-12 schools and focused on improving academic achievement for military-connected children. Mial is a Hawaiian native. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and her master’s degree in special education from Chaminade University in Honolulu. She also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Cincinnati.
