Completing educational requirements is one of the most important achievements a student can accomplish. We connect students to resources and support services which support academic achievement and success. Our mission is to provide educational options for youth of all ages who are:
- Behind in credits to graduate;
- Teen parents;
- Not experiencing success in their current school;
- Returning to school from an extended absence due to a life circumstance;
- At risk of dropping out or have dropped out of school;
- Struggling with chronic absenteeism or truancy;
- In the Juvenile Justice System; or
- New residents of the District of Columbia.
The services offered by the Student Placement Team include:
- Non-Traditional & Transfer Student Placement
- Developing Career Interest Profiles;
- Reviewing transcripts;
- Referring to Opportunity Academies;
- Creating connections to community-based resources;
- Providing Registration information and school choice options; and
- Monitoring student success to include attendance, academic progress, individual graduations, and behavioral interventions.
