Global Studies Schools

Child in front of a bulletin boardOverview

Together with Harvard University’s Project Zero, DCPS has invested in three new Global Studies Schools. Teacher Fellows at all schools connect their content and teaching to global issues through monthly seminars with leading global education experts, and in bi-weekly professional learning communities at their school site. The project takes the local cultural capital of our city–DC’s diversity, cultural life, neighborhood identities, cultural institutions, NGOs and international presence–cultivate students’ global competence, opening their minds and engagement with the world while also deepening their sense of belonging to the nation’s capital.
