Sah Brown

Sah Brown, Ed.D., is the Instructional Superintendent for Cluster 9. He has served school communities in Washington, D.C. for over 20 years with a passion for ensuring students have access to a rigorous, supportive, and well-rounded education. He has a strong record of setting high standards, raising student achievement, and delivering unwavering leadership during transitional seasons. He has also cultivated a distinct culture of trust, innovation, and collaboration within schools. 

During his tenure as principal of Jackson-Reed High School (2022-2026) and Eastern High School (2016-2022), Dr. Brown was instrumental in establishing Career and Technical Education NAF Academies, expanding Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate offerings and increasing graduation rates. His overall focus has been on preparing students for college and careers by providing access to rigorous learning opportunities. 

Prior to serving in his role as Instructional Superintendent, Dr. Brown's experience includes serving as a teacher, special education coordinator, assistant principal, and principal, along with serving as a DCPS Senior Fellow where he mentored aspiring principals. Throughout his career, Dr. Brown’s selfless service to students and communities across DC has earned him a reputation as an accomplished leader committed to helping students grow in their academic and professional pursuits.

Dr. Brown holds a Bachelor's degree from Lehigh University, two Master's degrees from Trinity University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gwynedd Mercy University. He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife and their two children.
