Christopher Lewis

Chris Lewis is the Chief of Employee Services for DCPS, where he leads the HR Operations, HR Data Systems, Instructional Talent Acquisition & Retention, Staffing, and Employee Experience work for the district. Prior to leading Employee Services beginning in 2024, Chris served as the Deputy Chief of IMPACT, leading the team responsible for the agency’s performance evaluation system.

Chris began his career teaching 8th grade math at Ron Brown Middle School. Prior to returning to DCPS in 2016, he worked with Education Resource Strategies to support urban K-12 districts with strategic resource planning. In this role, Chris managed day-to-day operations, supervising analysis of human resources, financial, and student outcome data to drive insights that informed improvements. Chris also worked at College Summit (now Peer Forward) to help K-12 districts across the country increase the college-going rate of their low-income students. Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts from Haverford College and a Master in Business Administration from Yale University.

Chris is a proud native Washingtonian and is passionate about supporting staff as they empower the students of DCPS.
