
Jenyé is a third generation educator, which is evident in her ability to pass that same dedication to teaching and learning on to her students and colleagues both in and out of the classroom. She has ten years of teaching and leadership experience which included her students showing a 30 percent increase in grade level reading proficiency with 76 percent of her students surpassing their targeted year of growth.
During her tenure as team lead at the Arts and Technology Public Charter School in Washington, DC, Jenyé also served as a mentor teacher and facilitated workshops in reading instruction for elementary school English Language Arts teachers. She was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in recognition of outstanding performance and recognized for her achievement in raising grade level reading scores.
Jenyé has also served on curriculum writing teams where she co-authored Common Core State Standards aligned curriculums for English Language Arts and Social Studies as well as served as a Curriculum Team Lead for English Language Arts pre-kindergarten through 5th grade.
Prior to entering the classroom, Jenyé served as the founding Service Director for City Year Washington, DC, where she managed a service- learning curriculum for District of Columbia 6th through 8th grade students, trained literacy tutors and managed service partner relationships with over thirty DCPS schools annually for five years.
Jenyé is a native of Houston, Texas and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Howard University.
Jenyé will be serving as an Elementary Master Educator.
