
Prior to joining the master educator team, Mark LaLonde spent 7 years teaching Social Studies in DCPS. During this time, Mark worked at Hine Junior High School and Roosevelt Senior High School teaching 7th through 12th grade classes. While teaching at Roosevelt, Mark served as the Social Studies Department Chair, Lead Teacher and a member of the School Leadership Team. In addition, Mark founded and coordinated the Roosevelt Model UN Club, which supported student understanding and involvement in Global Issues.
In 2011, Mark was profiled in the DCPS Reality PD Video Series with his 9th Grade World History class. He was also honored as a Highly Effective Teacher for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years.
Outside of class, Mark worked as a curriculum advisor to Global Classrooms DC in support of their programs in the Washington DC Region.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University in Secondary Education.
Mark will be serving as a Master Educator in Social Studies.
