Students at Houston Elementary School look forward to connecting each week with their Adopt-a-School partner, Vision Impact Center. As a local community organization, Vision Impact Center’s goal is to give students and families the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. They do this by hosting weekly town halls focused on character development and helping students navigate healthy relationships with themselves and one another. During previous town halls, students learned that their actions may have consequences or rewards and that doing the right thing should always be a priority.

"Partnering with DCPS provided us with great opportunities to impact our future children,” shared Pastors Willie and Eboni Speight of Vision Impact Center. “It's been a honor to serve the young bright minds at Houston Elementary!"

The Adopt-a-School Program is a structured opportunity for community organizations and businesses to support DCPS schools by partnering for a minimum of one school year. This program is designed to foster school-partner relationships that are uniquely tailored to support the shared priorities of both the school and the partner. All partnerships for School Year 2016-2017 will officially launch in Fall 2016.
