Cornerstones are high-quality, powerful lessons that students engage in through the DCPS units of study. Students experience Cornerstones across grade levels and content areas, including ELA, math, science, social studies, art, health, PE, and world languages. Cornerstones are taught as part of the DCPS curriculum and are the lessons students will remember years from now.

Developed by DCPS teachers, Cornerstones make meaningful real-world connections through engaging and rigorous content, and are taught through proven, high-impact instructional models.

Here are some of the Cornerstone lessons and projects that DCPS students will experience.
