Bontu Kumsa, one of four DCPS Gates Millennium Scholars this year, is a senior at Columbia Heights Educational Campus. She believes that college is the best way to get a better job, travel, and see everything she wants to see in the world. At George Washington University, she plans to study biology and human rights to jumpstart her career in the medical field. “I’m looking forward to going to medical school,” said Bontu. “Me being a doctor would change a lot of things, whether it’s here in America or back home in Ethiopia.
