Elizabeth Sauler joined the Master Educator team in 2014. Upon completing her master’s in Bilingual Special Education at George Washington University (’01), Liz officially began her teaching career in DC Public Schools at Bell Multicultural High School. Since that time, she has served as a teacher, trainer, and administrator in bilingual and special education programs in the District of Columbia, Philadelphia, and Costa Rica.
Throughout her career in urban public education, Liz has worked with students and teachers from pre-k through adult education, from community-based literacy programs to Georgetown University. She has been drawn to working with teachers and administrators in a collaborative role, with a focus on increasing the academic success of culturally and linguistically diverse exceptional students. Her work in designing and facilitating professional development for teachers led her to the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows, where she helped to recruit and train hundreds of new teachers in critical need subject areas for the School District of Philadelphia. She has also worked in charter schools in DC and Philadelphia as a teacher and school leader.
Her master’s degree is complemented by a B.A. in Sociology with certificates in Peace & Conflict Studies and International & National Voluntary Service Training at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Liz was pleased to return to DCPS last year as a Master Educator in the areas of Language Acquisition and Special Education.
