Hardy Middle School
Errol Johnson attended the University of Rochester for his undergraduate degree in Political Science, Mathematics and African American Studies. After graduation, he joined Teach For America as a Special Education Mathematics teacher at Roosevelt Senior High School, in the District of Columbia. He earned a master’s degree in Special Education from George Mason University while working as an instructional coach with Teach for America. Mr. Johnson joined New Leaders for New Schools, Aspiring Principals Program, serving as a Resident Principal at IDEA Public Charter School. Mr. Johnson currently serves as the 9th Grade Academy, Assistant Principal, at Dunbar High School, where his data-driven mindset and leadership has increased 9th-grade in-seat attendance to 90%, student promotion rate to 10th grade to 96%, the highest in DCPS, and student PARCC scores to increase in levels 4 and 5 under Mr. Johnson’s leadership by 10%.
