William Taylor has spent his career educating the students of DCPS. He began as a general education teacher at Kimball Elementary School in 2007. After 4 years teaching 5th grade, Mr. Taylor moved on to Wheatley Education Campus to be a middle school math teacher. While teaching pre-algebra to 6th and 7th graders, he joined the faculty of the University of the District of Columbia as an adjunct math professor. Mr. Taylor joined Aiton Elementary School in 2014 as an Instructional Coach and quickly moved into the role of Assistant Principal where he has served for the last 3 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Virginia State University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Trinity University. Mr. Taylor believes the most important steps to move a school towards proficiency are to set and model expectations of quality instruction.
