Victor Alleyne, a senior at Banneker High School and the first man in his family to go to college, will attend Penn State University next year on a full-tuition scholarship. He’s interested in studying criminology and international relations after taking a course at Syracuse University last summer as an OSSE scholar, and after his travels abroad, including to Croatia with Step Afrika! and nine other DCPS students. He says the IB program at Banneker has prepared him for college: “It’s okay to fall down – it’s how you get back up.”
