Randle Highlands Elementary School 

Kristie Edwards is the new interim principal at Randle Highlands Elementary School for School Year 2016-2017. Since 2011, Edwards has served as the assistant principal at Columbia Heights Education Campus (CHEC) for students in 10th, 11th and 12th grade. She was also an instructional coach at CHEC, and before that, was a special education teacher. Prior to joining DCPS, Edwards worked as an inclusion teacher instructing English language arts, math, science, and social studies. A native of Rocky Mount, NC, she began her career working as a special education teacher for the Wake County Public School System in 2000. Edwards received her bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in international relations and foreign policy from Shaw University. She also holds a master’s degree in school administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix. Her Twitter handle is @KedwardsNC.
