Lisa Rosado

Savoy Elementary School

Lisa Rosado is the new principal at Savoy Elementary School for School Year 2017-2018. She comes to Savoy with 15 years of experience in education, five of those in Washington, DC. Most recently, she served as the assistant principal at Turner Elementary School for three years. During her time at Turner, Rosado engaged in work around guided reading instruction and academic interventions, which has resulted in a shift from 77 percent of students reading far below grade level to 75 percent of students reading at, on, or above grade level in one school year. Before that, Rosado worked as an instructional coach with DCPS and a teacher in Prince George’s County. In 2010, she received her National Board Certification in reading. Rosado is most excited about the principal role because it gives her the opportunity to collaborate with parents, teachers, and students to create a school that is rigorous and joyful. She received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education and holds a master’s of education in reading from Potsdam State University. She also holds a master’s degree in education administration from Trinity University.
