tarting in summer 2011, DCPS began a community engagement initiative in Ward 5 to enhance middle grades options for families.  That community engagement led to the Ward 5 Great Schools Initiative and plans for three new middle grades options in Ward 5.  Academic and facilities planning is underway at each campus.
