Since June 2011, DCPS has been working with the Ward 5 community to improve middle grades options in the ward through the Ward 5 Great Schools Initiative. With input received from the Ward 5 community, DCPS announced three distinct options for middle grades students opening in SY 2013 and SY 2014.
