Clarice Crawford

Nalle Elementary School

Ms. Crawford brings 19 years of educational experience to the position. She began her career as a classroom teacher and instructional leader in Virginia before joining DCPS, where she has worked as a teacher, instructional coach, and, most recently, as the eighth-grade assistant principal at Kelly Miller Middle School, also in Ward 7. Across these roles, Ms. Crawford has led meaningful improvements in teaching and learning, including supporting strong academic growth in both English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics. She also enhanced schoolwide systems through her leadership of the Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS); DCPS’ preventative, data-driven framework designed to meet the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students.

A native Washingtonian and proud DCPS alumna, Ms. Crawford is deeply committed to improving student outcomes and building strong community partnerships in her hometown. As a school leader, she prioritizes ensuring that all students receive rigorous, high-quality instruction and have access to experiential learning opportunities.

Ms. Crawford holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Virginia State University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from American Intercontinental University. She is also a graduate of the DCPS–Georgetown Leadership & Innovation Program.
