Hyde-Addison Elementary School

Kimberly Bigelow is an experienced elementary educator, native Washingtonian, and proud DCPS graduate. Since returning to DCPS as an educator in 2006, she has served as a teacher in second through fifth grades, Literacy Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal, most recently at Mann Elementary School. With a background in foundational literacy, Ms. Bigelow is student-centered and passionate about supporting students’ academic growth and strengthening teacher development. 

During her time in leadership, she has contributed to clear student gains on our state assessment, including double-digit growth in English Language Arts (ELA) in SY 2024-2025. Ms. Bigelow also improved early literacy in K–2 and helped cultivate a greater sense of belonging for students. Ms. Bigelow prioritizes meaningful family-school partnerships and strong relationships across students, staff, and families. She is committed to creating an engaging environment where every student thrives. 

Ms. Bigelow holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland, University College. She also holds a master's degree in Elementary Education and a post-master's certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration, both from The George Washington University. Recently, she also earned a certificate in School Management and Leadership from Harvard University while serving in the DCPS Mary Jane Patterson Fellowship.
