As an experienced school leader with 20 years of service within DCPS, Ms. Louise Lewis has served as a grade-level team lead, an instructional coach, and an assistant principal. She brings a strong record of impact and a deep commitment to student success, family engagement, and community partnership. Most recently, Ms. Lewis served as an assistant principal at Phelps Architecture, Construction and Engineering (A.C.E.) High School. During her time there, the school made strong progress, including double-digit gains in ELA on the District of Columbia Comprehensive Assessments of Progress in Education (CAPE) and a 60% increase in student enrollment.
Ms. Lewis holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Clark Atlanta University, a master's degree in educational administration from Trinity Washington University, and she is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership (K–12) at Delaware State University. She is also a graduate of the DCPS Secondary Assistant Principal Program and served as a mentor to new assistant principals in the district.
