Natalie Alston

Natalie Alston serves as the Chief of the Office of Fiscal Strategy, where she leads the district’s efforts to align financial planning with strategic priorities to ensure excellence, equity, and efficiency in support of every student’s success. Under her leadership, Office of Fiscal Strategy acts as a catalyst for identifying, optimizing, and aligning resources with DCPS’s mission and goals, ensuring that fiscal stewardship directly advances instructional and operational impact across schools and central services.

Natalie began her career at DC Public Schools in 2015 as an analyst on the Human Resources team and has held several leadership roles in the agency. In these various roles her dedication to innovation, equity, and collaboration has been key to driving her teams to success. Her work centers on building systems that are transparent, data-driven, and responsive to the evolving needs of students, schools, and communities. She is passionate about leveraging fiscal strategy as a tool for equity ensuring that every dollar supports meaningful opportunities for students across the district.

Natalie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Delaware State University and a Master of Arts from Trinity Washington University. She earned a certification in Project Management from the University of Delaware, a certification in Educational Finance from Georgetown University, and was a member of the inaugural class of DCPS’s Strategic Practices for Adaptive and Responsive Leadership program at Georgetown University.
