
Plummer Elementary School
Mr. Schneider was born and raised in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) and has more than 15 years of experience in education. He has served students and communities across Memphis, Tennessee, and Oakland, California, in roles including teacher, history teacher, grade chair, and dean of instruction. After returning to DC in 2020, he has held leadership roles within DCPS, including resident principal and, most recently, assistant principal at John Lewis Elementary School in Ward 4.
As a leader, Mr. Schneider has dedicated his efforts to strengthening student outcomes, building inclusive school communities where students feel valued, and ensuring essential supports for multilingual learners and those receiving special education services. His leadership is grounded in the belief that strong relationships are essential to driving student success and ensuring school culture is built on trust, collaboration, and meaningful partnerships with families.
Mr. Schneider holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ursinus College and a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University.
