Beers Elementary School
Mr. Kennard Branch began his career in 2003 as an elementary school teacher teaching fourth grade in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2008, Mr. Branch joined DCPS as assistant principal at H.D. Cooke Elementary School. Since then, he has served as a principal coach, assistant principal at a DCPS middle school campus, and an award-winning principal during his 11 years at Garfield Elementary – where he won the Rubenstein Award for Highly Effective Leadership in 2016 and 2018. Most recently, Mr. Branch was Head of School at Bard High School Early College DC, where he led the campus team in ensuring students social, emotional, and academic development.
Mr. Branch earned a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Education, and a Master of Science from Cheyney University. He also holds an Executive Master's in Leadership (EML) from Georgetown University.
