As a football player and member of the Student Athletic Board, it comes as no surprise that Eastern High School senior Dre’Von Tolson wants to be a physical therapist someday. “I’ve seen people come back from severe surgeries, and I want to be able to help them.” After a semester of community college this fall, Dre’Von will attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore next spring, which he says is “far from home, but not too far.” In addition to sports, he is also involved in student government and the 100 Men of Excellence program at Eastern, and says that the secret to balancing everything is timing. “I have to stay on top of everything. It gets stressful, but I pull through. My family motivates me, too.” Even though he’s looking forward to meeting new people in college, he acknowledges that Eastern has been a great school for him: “There are a lot of opportunities here and a lot that you can accomplish.” #DCPSGoesToCollege
