Burroughs Elementary School
LeVar Jenkins is the new principal at Burroughs Elementary School for School Year 2017-2018. He came to Burroughs during School Year 2016-2017 as the interim principal. Before coming to Burroughs, Jenkins served as the assistant principal at both Plummer Elementary School and H.D. Cooke Elementary School. He has also worked as a special education coordinator with DCPS, and a teacher with Fairfax County Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools. During his time as assistant principal at Plummer, he helped improve student growth on the iReady math assessment. Jenkins received his bachelor’s degree from Tuskegee University and his master’s degree in education with a focus in special education from Bowie State University.
