J.O. Wilson Elementary School
Guye Turner has been an educator and school leader in the DC area for more than 15 years. As a college student, Mr. Turner volunteered at Seaton Elementary School, and he has dedicated his career to education ever since. For the past three years, Mr. Turner served as principal of the Young Campus at Two Rivers Public Charter School, a role he assumed after three years as assistant principal at Two Rivers. He also served as a teacher and instructional lead teacher at Jamestown Elementary School in Arlington, VA, where he was honored as Jamestown Teacher of the Year in 2011. Mr. Turner believes in a growth mindset for a school’s staff and students, and that a robust community and school culture are cornerstones of a highly successful school. He holds a bachelor's degree from The George Washington University, and a master's in teaching (elementary education) from American University.
