Dr. Jean-Paul Cadet is the Chief of the Office of Social-Emotional and Academic Development (SEAD) Strategy. In this role, he oversees strategy and implementation support for Career and Technical Education (CTE), Graduation Success Initiatives (GSI), Postsecondary Success Programs (PSP), Athletics, and Scheduling, Transcripts, and Academic Records (STARS).  

Dr. Cadet brings nearly 30 years of experience as an educator, school and district leader, and higher education instructor. Most recently, he served as Director of Career and Technical Education for Prince George’s County Public Schools, where he led districtwide efforts to expand career pathways, strengthen partnerships with business and community organizations, and increase access to dual enrollment and industry-recognized credentials for students.  

Prior to that, Dr. Cadet served as Principal of Oxon Hill High School for nine years, where he was recognized for helping drive significant academic gains and building a strong culture of achievement and opportunity for students.  

Dr. Cadet earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehouse College and both his master’s and doctoral degrees from Howard University. He began his career in education as a high school English teacher and has dedicated his career to expanding opportunities and improving outcomes for students.
