As social media continues to become more prevalent in our culture as a resource for sharing news, knowledge and other information, DCPS has crafted this social media policy to help guide its employees in both effective and ethical social media practices. This policy will deliver DCPS guidance on social media engagement. It will also discuss data security and compliance considerations but will not deliver DCPS’ comprehensive policy on data security and compliance. This policy provides a set of guidelines for social media use by DCPS employees, including communications by employees under professional and personal usernames and handles in online communities.
