Mayor Bowser to Cut Ribbon on New Playground at Oyster-Adams Bilingual School

Sunday, October 30, 2022

(Washington, DC) – On Monday, October 31 at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser will be joined by students, school staff, and families to cut the ribbon on Oyster-Adams Bilingual School’s new playground. The $1.5 million project replaced two playgrounds and renovated the school’s turf field. Students and families will also host a “Kindness Walk” as part of their annual food drive benefiting So Others Might Eat (SOME). Donations will support families and individuals experiencing food insecurity in DC.

For more than 40 years, Oyster-Adams Bilingual School has served as a model for dual-language education in DC and nationwide; students learn 50% of their academic content in English and 50% in Spanish.
