Mary Ball demonstrates her commitment to teaching and to DCPS first and foremost by her years of service. She began her teaching career with DCPS twenty-eight years ago at Lincoln Multicultural Middle School. There she taught for seven years as an English as a Second Language instructor. She continued as a highly effective educator at Woodrow Wilson High School, teaching there for twenty years before pursing her desire to work for a high-needs school for the 2014-2015 school year. Ms. Ball has continued to be a highly effective educator in the International Academy at Cardozo Education Campus. According to her Master Educator, Ms. Ball “is one of the strongest educators I have evaluated within the Language Acquisition area… The quality of her instruction has been consistently solid.”
