Kimberly Davila was born to teach in DC Public Schools. Raised by a DCPS teacher, Ms. Davila is a native Washingtonian and product of DCPS. She has committed twenty-three years to the classroom and is now the math specialist at Moten Elementary, with students asking to be in her class because they learn so much. Ms. Davila continues to push herself as an educator and push her students beyond their comfort by utilizing innovative resources and tools, particularly through the use of art, songs and chants, to develop students’ math skills. Beyond teaching, Ms. Davila mentors some of the new teachers at Moten, works in the aftercare program, and oversees math interventions at the school.
