Kenia Montague

Kenia MontagueKenia Montague has known since 9th grade that she wants to be an ultrasound technician after watching her aunt’s pregnancy, so she plans to study radiology at Virginia State University next year. She’s only been at Washington Metropolitan High School for one year, but she’s taken two history classes, two math classes, an English class, and a computer applications class, in addition to doing community service with a program called Girls on the Rise. “We work with girls ages 7-13 and do activities like take them to the pool and make organic lip gloss. We keep them off the streets and out of trouble.” Her favorite memory of Washington Metropolitan has been her counselor Ms. Oliver. “She’s like another mother to me. She always says, ‘You got this, you’re going to be great.’” #DCPSGoesToCollege
