Sharika Hester-Scott, a graduating senior at Luke C. Moore, can’t wait to start at Delaware State University, where she will pursue her dream of attending a Historically Black University (HBCU) and become a social worker. “I’ve always wanted to help people,” she says. Her commitment to helping others has been evident during her time at Luke C. Moore where she has served as a student ambassador and a peer leader. Her teachers have been a defining part of her high school experience. “I feel like I could talk to them about anything. They’re passionate about what they do.” She wants people to know that great things are happening at Luke C. Moore. “The academics, the teachers, the whole environment – for me, it’s fun. I feel like here you’re always able to connect with people and build relationships.” Her advice for younger students? “Believe in yourself and ask for help when you need it.” #DCPSGoesToCollege
