After leading the undefeated Washington Metropolitan High School basketball team to its first championship, Kahlil McNair is looking forward to pursuing basketball at the college level when he enrolls at Clinton College this fall. He says his teachers at Washington Met have taught him how to channel his competitive nature on the court into his academics. “They’re very helpful. They really want you to get your diploma and to graduate.” Kahlil is planning on getting his Associate degree in business and ultimately pursuing a career in sports management. He says he wants to encourage other students to take their time in high school seriously. “Every grade counts, starting from the 9th grade.”
