Truesdell Education Campus
Steve Aupperle has been with DCPS for more that 18 years, and he has been serving the Truesdell community for the past 11 years. Prior to joining Truesdell, he taught 1st, 5th, and 6th grade students at H.D. Cooke Elementary School for seven years. At Truesdell, he quickly became an asset to the school as an instructional coach before being appointed as an assistant principal in 2014. As assistant principal, Mr. Aupperle has led the literacy team to raise ELA PARCC scores by 25 percentage points. He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from George Washington University.
